1. Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, wife of Niger State Governor and other Northern First Ladies arrived Gombe State for the Quarterly meeting of the Northern Governor’s Spouses Forum.
They were received by Hajiya Asmau Inuwa Yahaya the Gombe State First Lady and Chairperson Northern Governor’s Spouses Forum.

The Executive Governor of Gombe State and Chairman Northern States Governor’s Forum received members of the 19 Northern Governor’s Spouses Forum on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Gombe
where he assured the Forum of the support and that of other Governors, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
2. The NGSF held a Stakeholders town hall meeting where the focus was on tackling the security challenge in the region, arising from the menace of drug and substance abuse and a Call to Action was made.
Gender-Based Violence and the challenges of out of school children were also discussed.
3. Niger State First Lady Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago alongside Wives of northern states governors under the aegis of Northern Governors Wives Forum have restated their commitment to addressing the menace of drug abuse in the region.
The Drug Rehabilitation Centre was commissioned and a Call to Action against drugs and substance abuse was taken.
4. Several women were empowered in Gombe State with sewing machines by the Northern Governor’s Spouses Forum. Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago and other First Ladies made the presentations.
5. Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago joined other First Ladies to launch the ACReSAL project in Gombe State by jointly planting trees in Gombe state, in an effort to change the tide of soil erosion and degradation.
This was a sideline of the Quarterly meeting of the Governorsβ Spouses Forum.
ACReSAL is an acronym for Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes is a World Bank sponsored project that aims to combat desertification, restore degraded lands, and special ecosystems for agriculture and biodiversity conservation.
6. Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago and other First Ladies paid homage to His Royal Highness Abubakar Shehu-Abubakar, CFR The Emir of Gombe State.
7. A farewell dinner was organised for the visiting First Ladies to round up activities of the quarterly meeting.
